Instead of forcing a choice, Smartlet's modular system lets you showcase your analog watch while discreetly housing a smartwatch or fitness tracker on the underside of your wrist.
The stainless steel strap, starting at $418, is compatible with a wide range of smartwatches and fitness trackers, including the Apple Watch, Samsung Galaxy Watch, Google Pixel Watch, Garmin models, Fitbit Charge, and Whoop. However, in practice, Smartlet raises intriguing questions, particularly concerning bulk. The system reportedly adds between 9 and 12 mm of height to the underside of the wrist once a connected device is attached. For those prone to accidental scratches, the idea of strapping a second device to the underside, where it frequently comes into contact with surfaces, may seem like a recipe for disaster.
Aesthetically, Smartlet is clearly targeted at the 'modern gentleman,' with marketing language emphasizing luxury watch culture and phrases like 'from the boardroom to the weekend.'
